“Woman – Glory of Creation”

After 14 weeks of enduing, the Women Empowerment Programme reached its pinnacle on 30th September 2007, at SJK (T) Batu Ampat, Kampung Jawa, Klang from 2.40pm till 5.30 pm.

The closing ceremony got off to a start with the saying of prayer by Ms Usha Nanthini. Next, after the introduction of EWRF and its services for the community, TTDI branch Chairman Mr Uthaya Selvan gave a brief round up of all the activities which had been conducted successfully under the programme.

The Chief Guests present were SUHAKAM commissioner Dato Siva Subramaniam and Mr Reddy from the Subang Jaya Sai Baba team. They were accompanied by EWRF President Mr SP Pathi and Mr Rajalingam from the Tamil Foundation. Dato Siva, during his speech, touched on many important issues surrounding the Indian women of this country and emphasized that they must strive to reach greatness. He also congratulated EWRF for its efforts. Mr Reddy spoke about several aspects of the community, from the importance of religion to social ills that bog down the Malaysian Indians. He was very pleased with the programme run by EWRF TTDI.

Mr SP Pathi was proud to say a few words on EWRF and gave insights on future EWRF programmes to come. Mr Rajalingam was gracious in saying a few words of encouragement to the participating ladies from Kampung Jawa. Mr Chandra Mohan, EWRF TTDI branch Deputy Chairman closed the event with selected songs fitting the event that day. The closing ceremony of the Women Empowerment Programme came to an end with a high tea, in which food items such as cakes and other mouth watering delicacies prepared by the participating women of the programme were served. The Women Empowerment Programme was a true eye opener for the women of Kampung Jawa.
