Supporting the Well Being of Others

“It is our aim to look into the welfare of those in need”, said Ms Subita Nair, the Executive Director of EWRF. On 11th October 2007, officials from EWRF visited the Makkal Osai daily’s head office in Sentul for a cheque presentation towards the Makkal Osai Staff Development Fund as a move to help the staff at Makkal Osai who did not receive their wages due to the halt in operations of the daily following some legal implications not too long ago.

After an hour long meeting with the daily’s News Editor, B.R Rajan, Ms Subita Nair accompanied by the other EWRF officials handed over a cheque totalling RM 3000 to Mr. Rajan. “ Makkal Osai has been very supportive of EWRF’s programmes. We are happy that we could do our part for the welfare of the staff here”, added Subita. Mr Rajan said that Makkal Osai is looking forward to forming long term ties with EWRF as its official Newspaper.
