Low Interest Loan for Youth Entrepreneurs
 
In order to encourage entrepreneurship among Malaysian youth, the Government appears to have launched a new scheme called "Skim Tabung Ekonomi Belia". Youth - i.e. those between age 18 and 40 - are eligible. Those who qualify, following a 5-day training programme, may get a loan of RM5,000 - RM50,000 (from Bank Pertanian or Bank Rakyat) either to start a new business or to expand an existing one. The interest rate is 4%. Malaysians- Indian are eligible.
