Educational Tour of the National University of Malaysia
On 19th August 2007, an educational trip to the National University of Malaysia (UKM) for standard six students was conducted. About 240 students from Sungai Besi Tamil School, Kajang Tamil School, Semenyih Tamil School, Rinching Tamil School and Bangi Tamil School attended the programme. The objective of the programme was to motivate and encourage the standard six students to do well in the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) exam.

The programme director was Priya Darshene D/O Rama Chandran and the programme was organised by the Undergraduate Volunteer Group (UVG). Mr Pasupathi, president of the Educational, Welfare and Research Foundation Malaysia (EWRF), was a special guest for the programme. Mr Gunalan was also present and carried out the ice breaking sessions fro the students that morning. The educational tour was made possible because of the sponsorship by EWRF.
In the afternoon, students were separated into several groups and were supervised by facilitators from UVG. The students visited the different faculties of UKM such as the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSSK), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEP), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Education (FPen), Faculty of Engineering (FKejut), Faculty of Law (FUU) and the Centre of Languages and Linguistic Studies (PPBL).
During the programme, teachers from several schools gave their fullest cooperation to make the programme a success. They felt that the programme was a way for the students to relax and relieve themselves off exam stress. The students enjoyed themselves and were happy with the trip as it showed them a new environment and a whole new experience.
