Empowering Students Through Club Activities

“EWRF Junior Club is very good for students to progress themselves. Many motivational and leadership programs run by EWRF through its Junior Club will help the students progress themselves”, said Puvan, one of the members of the EWRF Junior Club. “I got to know about EWRF through my friends. “They said that EWRF has been running many activities for school students. That is why today I have joined EWRF Junior Club to benefit from it, said another student Chandrika”.
“We as parents always support and welcome EWRF Junior Club. It is a good initiative to mould the characters of the students for positive living, to enhance students’ skills and talents and also to enhance their leadership qualities”. It will also pave a way for students from getting involved into undesirable activities” elaborated many parents during the launch of the EWRF Junior Club held on 11 March 2007 at SJK(T) Simpang Lima, Klang.

50 students and their parents attended the launch aimed at empowering the students with the continued support and commitment from the parents. EWRF Junior Club has been launched by Mr S P Pathi, President of EWRF for the betterment of form one to form five students especially those who have participated in any activities conducted by EWRF. The launch was witnessed by Mr K. Devadasan, Deputy President, Mr K. Sandra Segaran, Treasurer, Mr Ron Selvan, EWRF TTDI Branch Chairman/Committee Member, Ms Subita Nair, Executive Director and Mr Reggie from London.

Earlier, Mr Sandra Segeran in his welcome remark, urged students equip themselves with sound education and leadership quality. “Indian community in Malaysia has been witnessing gradual changes in their life through education. Parents are the one who determine the bright future of their children. I am happy to see that many parents are here today. It clearly shows that you want to make a difference towards your children and also yourselves”, said Chandra Segeran.
Mr S.P Pathi, during the launch said that EWRF has been empowering a cross section of Indian Community especially in education and welfare for 30 years. Since its inception, a lot of Tamil school students have been benefiting through its activities. “I strongly believe that EWRF Junior Club will further enhance the leadership quality of Indian students and create dedicated volunteers in future”. “The club also is to create a good human being for family, community and country”, said Mr S.P Pathi.

After the launch, management committee members of the Club consist of the students were selected. The committee will play an important role to plan and implement activities for the members with the advice and supervision of EWRF Head Office.
Activities such as Educational Seminars, Adventure Camps, Study Tours, Sports, Quiz etc would be carried out for the members of the club. We would also like to thank our Manager Mr Manikam Krishnan and Mr K Saravanan for their undivided support in making this event a success.
