English Enrichment Class Begins
(Sponsored by Rotary Club of Damansara)
The curtains have been raised for the English Enrichment Class on 1st August 2007, a project organised by the Tamil Language Society (TLS) of University Malaya in collaboration with EWRF and funded by the Rotary Club of Damansara, for the primary students of Tennamaram and Bukit Tinngi Estates which are located in Batang Berjuntai, as a follow up action by TLS following the Student Service Corps (SSC) project which was held in both the estates.
The primary objectives of the project will be to assist the young estate children to improve in the English language, in the process enlightening them on the importance of English. As this project will train students to use English for everyday communication, the methodology used to teach them will be task based, giving students an opportunity to learn English the fun and creative way.
An initial sum of RM 9000 has been forwarded by the Rotary Club of Damansara to help with the running of the project. The English classes will be held 4 times a month for lower primary and upper primary students respectively.
This project is a commendable effort taken by the TLS of University Malaya, and EWRF is happy to stand by this project. The generosity of the Rotary Club of Damansara must also be praised and welcomed. It is hoped that the students will put in their share of effort to make this project a success. |
